This project is typical of the Geometrik Studio process, with computer visualization playing a key role in the development of the design,as well as a vital part of the presentation & promotional "package". Several preliminary concept renderings are included after the finalpresentation renderings to illustrate process.
The Studio was contracted to deliver an architectural design concept for a proposed Fire Station located in Janesville, WI. The work focusedon exterior skin development, and required strict adherence to plans & schematics developed by ADG Architects (Eau Claire, Wisconsin).
The design visually resembles the existing structure that will be demolished and replaced by the new facility, as a way of reinforcing historical
continuity. The building is also intended to have a prominent visual presence at night, with glowing elements and luminous backlighting.
Additionally, there are interior features that take advantage of transparent portions of the facade - features that become visible only at night -
so that the building is dynamically changing throughout a 24-hour period.
