Geometrik Studio is owned and operated as a sole proprietorship by Tim Fairbanks, a multi-disciplinary artist and designer based in the Twin Cities. Considered a versatile generalist rather than a specialist, he has a diverse background in art, design, architecture, furniture design, metalsmithing, illustration, and even cartooning.

Tim received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Environmental Design from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) in 1989.

With more than twenty five years experience in architectural practice, his primary focus has been on producing quality 3D visualization & computer graphics and integrating its use into all facets of the architectural design, presentation, and marketing processes.

Before starting Geometrik Studio, Tim worked for a number of Twin Cities architectural firms and developers.

He is a member of the American Society of Architectural Illustrators (ASAI) .

Favorite (paradoxical) quote from a former colleague:  "I don't want a DESIGN I just need a rendering!"
Second favorite quote (regarding a proposed design):  "I don't care how much it costs, as long as it looks cheap!"

Hopefully, we can aspire to more  :-)

Tim is an avid cyclist, accumulating several thousand miles a year on a totally laid-back ICE "Sprint" recumbent trike and a custom RANS "Street" he built-up from a bare frameset. He is also a self-taught guitarist, but don't ask him to gig with your band - it would just be embarrassing for everyone  :-)
